Great Falls, VA

Great Falls is a Washington suburb located in Northern Virginia, approximately 30 minutes from DC. Great Falls is especially renowned for its natural beauty, with the 800-acre Great Falls Park as its crown jewel.

The community is desired and sought after, with many of DC’s political and diplomatic elite choosing to live here. Great Falls was recognized by CNN Money as one of the top-earning towns in the United States.

Homes are separated by large farms and rolling hills reminiscent of an English countryside, ensuring the privacy of homeowners.  A number of exclusive country clubs cater to their upscale members.

Most residents drive to and from Great Falls via Virginia State Route 7 and Virginia State Route 193. Public transportation is nonexistent. Schools in and around the community are managed by Fairfax County Public Schools.

Community history

Great Falls began as an agricultural community in the late 18th century. Records show that Great Falls was once called Forestville. It wasn’t until the mid-1950s that the community was given its present name.
